forward slash
Diagonal typing mark
A forward slash is the punctuation mark /, leaning to the right.
It separates alternatives and/or, components of dates 9/11/2001, or elements in web addresses example.com/page.
Called "forward" to distinguish it from the backslash (\), which leans left.
In casual use, often just called a slash.
