skunks
Black-and-white sprayers
Skunks are black-and-white mammals famous for spraying a foul-smelling liquid when threatened.
The smell is so distinctive and unpleasant that skunk extends to anything that stinks: This weed smells like skunk.
To skunk someone is to defeat them completely, especially to shut them out scoreless: We got skunked 7-0.
Skunk also names a potent strain of cannabis.
