adrenal fatigue
Stress-worn hormone depletion
Adrenal fatigue is a disputed diagnosis in alternative medicine, describing a collection of symptoms—tiredness, body aches, sleep problems—supposedly caused by chronically overtaxed adrenal glands.
Mainstream medicine doesn't recognize it as a legitimate condition, noting that the adrenal glands don't become "fatigued" in this way.
The term persists in wellness culture: My naturopath thinks my exhaustion is adrenal fatigue.
