fresh air intake
Exterior air vent
A fresh air intake is an opening or duct that draws outside air into a building or mechanical system.
In HVAC systems, it provides ventilation and maintains indoor air quality by diluting stale air.
Combustion appliances like furnaces and water heaters require dedicated fresh air intakes to supply oxygen for burning fuel safely: The inspector noted the fresh air intake was blocked by debris.
