skin rash
Red, irritated patches
A skin rash is an area of irritated, inflamed, or discolored skin, often accompanied by itching, bumps, or texture changes.
Rashes have countless causes—allergic reactions, infections, autoimmune conditions, or contact with irritants: The new detergent gave me a skin rash.
The term is somewhat redundant since rashes by definition appear on skin, but it emphasizes the visible, dermatological nature of the condition.
