shoemaker
Craftsman with lasts
A shoemaker is a person who makes or repairs shoes.
The trade is ancient, and the term persists even as mass production has largely replaced handcrafting: The old shoemaker worked from a tiny shop downtown.
A cobbler is similar, though traditionally cobblers only repaired shoes while shoemakers made them.
