shock paddles
Cardiac emergency electrodes
Shock paddles are the handheld electrodes of a defibrillator, pressed against a patient's chest to deliver an electric shock that can restore normal heart rhythm.
The term evokes emergency medical scenes: Clear! The doctor pressed the shock paddles to his chest.
Also called defibrillator paddles.
