shedder
Coat-dropping creature
A shedder is something that sheds.
The word appears most often for animals that lose fur or hair: Our dog is a heavy shedder.
It also describes molting crustaceans—a soft-shell crab is one caught just after shedding its old shell.
In industrial contexts, shedders are machines that strip or separate materials.
