gatherer

One who collects

A gatherer is someone who collects things, whether systematically or casually.

The word most often appears in the phrase hunter-gatherer, describing societies that subsist by hunting animals and gathering wild plants rather than farming.

Outside this context, gatherer describes anyone who accumulates: a gatherer of rare books, a gatherer of information.
