sextets

Groups of six

Sextets are groups of six, most commonly in music.

A sextet is a composition for six performers or the ensemble that plays it—six singers, six instrumentalists.

In poetry, a sextet is a six-line stanza, particularly the final six lines of a Petrarchan sonnet following the octave.

The string sextet opened the evening's program.
