choirs

Robed church singers

Choirs is the plural of choir—a group of singers who perform together, typically in a church or concert setting.

The word extends to sections of singers within a larger ensemble: The sopranos and altos sat on opposite sides of the choir loft.

Choirs also names groups of similar things, especially in the phrase choirs of angels, referring to the traditional ranks of heavenly beings.
