send off
Parting party event
Send off means to dispatch someone or something on their way.
You send off a package at the post office or send off your kids to school.
To send someone off can also mean to bid farewell, often with ceremony: The whole family came to send her off at the airport.
A send-off is the farewell event itself: They gave him quite a send-off.
In sports, to send off a player is to eject them from the game for misconduct.
