second serve
Post-fault delivery
In tennis and related racket sports, the second serve is the player's second attempt to put the ball in play after faulting on the first serve.
Players typically hit second serves with more spin and less pace to ensure it lands in the service box: She double-faulted when her second serve clipped the net.
A weak second serve invites attack.
