seasnail
Abalone's spiral cousin
A seasnail is any of various small marine snails, particularly those in the family Liparidae—also called snailfish—which have soft, tadpole-shaped bodies and a sucker disk for clinging to rocks.
The name also applies loosely to other marine gastropods.
We found seasnails attached to the underside of the pier.
