sea nymph
Aquatic mythological maiden
A sea nymph is a mythological female spirit inhabiting the ocean, typically depicted as beautiful and immortal.
In Greek mythology, sea nymphs include the Nereids (daughters of the sea god Nereus) and Oceanids.
The term appears in poetry and fantasy to evoke oceanic mystery or feminine grace: She swam like a sea nymph through the waves.
