cave dweller

Lives in caverns

A cave dweller is someone who lives in a cave, either literally or figuratively.

The term applies to prehistoric humans who inhabited caves, and extends to anyone perceived as primitive, unsociable, or out of touch with modern life: He's such a cave dweller—he doesn't even have a smartphone.

The word caveman carries similar connotations.
