salmon fillet
Boneless fish portion
A salmon fillet is a boneless cut of salmon sliced lengthwise from the fish's body, parallel to the spine.
It's one of the most common forms in which salmon is sold and cooked, typically with skin on one side: She pan-seared the salmon fillet skin-side down.
The word fillet is sometimes spelled filet, especially on menus.
