Waterproof farm boots
Gumboots are waterproof rubber boots, typically reaching mid-calf or knee height.
The term is standard in New Zealand, Australia, and parts of Britain, where Americans would say rain boots or rubber boots: I pulled on my gumboots to check the flooded paddock.
Originally made with gum rubber, hence the name.
