rubber bullets

Less-lethal crowd projectiles

Rubber bullets are projectiles made of rubber or plastic, designed to be less lethal than conventional ammunition.

Law enforcement and military forces use them for crowd control and riot suppression, firing them from standard firearms or specialized launchers.

Despite being called "non-lethal" or "less-lethal," rubber bullets can cause serious injury or death, particularly when fired at close range or striking the head: Protesters were dispersed with tear gas and rubber bullets.
