live rounds
Not blank cartridges
Live rounds are ammunition containing actual projectiles and propellant, as opposed to blanks or dummy cartridges used for training.
The term appears most often in safety contexts—distinguishing real bullets from inert ones: Never point a weapon at anyone, even if you think it's not loaded with live rounds.
Live rounds on a film set caused a fatal shooting in 2021.
