rounded down

Made a whole

Rounded down describes a number that has been adjusted to a lower value, typically to eliminate decimal places or reach a convenient figure.

If 4.7 becomes 4, it has been rounded down.

The phrase also applies when estimates or counts are deliberately made conservative: The organizers said five thousand, but that's probably rounded down.
