leaded glass
Panes with metal
Leaded glass is glass set into a framework of lead strips, creating decorative windows or panels.
The lead channels (called cames) hold individual pieces of glass together, allowing for intricate patterns and colored designs.
Stained glass windows in churches are the classic example: The leaded glass cast colored light across the chapel floor.
Also called lead glass, though that term separately describes glass containing lead oxide for clarity and brilliance.
