rocker arm
Engine pivot lever
A rocker arm is a pivoting lever in an engine's valve train that transmits motion from the camshaft to open and close the valves.
One end receives lift from the cam (directly or via pushrods), the other end pushes down on the valve stem.
The rocking motion gives the part its name.
