pushrods
Camshaft-to-rocker connectors
Pushrods are metal rods in certain internal combustion engines that transfer motion from the camshaft to the valves.
In pushrod engines (also called overhead valve engines), the camshaft sits low in the engine block, and pushrods relay its movement upward to open and close the valves.
This older design contrasts with overhead cam engines, where the camshaft sits atop the cylinder head.
The mechanic found a bent pushrod.
