roach
Nocturnal household pest
A roach is a cockroach, the flat-bodied insect notorious for infesting homes and surviving almost anything.
In drug slang, a roach is the butt end of a marijuana cigarette, held with a roach clip to avoid burning fingers.
A roach is also a freshwater fish of Europe.
To roach a horse's mane is to trim it short so it stands upright.
