A spliff is a marijuana cigarette, often one that mixes cannabis with tobacco.
The term originated in Jamaican English and spread through reggae culture: We rolled a spliff and passed it around.
In American usage, spliff and joint are often interchangeable, though purists insist a spliff contains tobacco.
