rewinds

Returns tape home

Rewinds is the verb form of rewind—to wind backward, returning something to an earlier position.

Originally applied to tape in cassettes and VCRs: She rewinds the movie to watch that scene again.

Now used for any media playback: He rewinds the podcast thirty seconds.

Figuratively, to mentally revisit: My brain keeps rewinding to that conversation.
