fast forwards
Jumps through footage
Fast forwards means to advance rapidly through recorded media—skipping ahead in a video, audio track, or playback.
The button or function that does this is also called fast forward: Hit fast forward to skip the commercials.
Figuratively, to fast forward is to jump ahead in time or skip over intervening events: Let's fast forward to when you actually met her.
