revisionist
Changes the narrative
Revisionist describes someone who reexamines and reinterprets accepted views, especially historical narratives.
The term can be neutral—historians regularly revise interpretations as new evidence emerges—or pejorative, suggesting distortion of established facts for ideological purposes: revisionist history, Holocaust revisionist.
In political contexts, revisionist often implies deviation from orthodox doctrine: The party accused him of revisionist tendencies.
