repairing
Making whole again
Repairing is the present participle of repair—fixing something broken or damaged.
The word appears in progressive constructions (I'm repairing the fence) and as an adjective (repairing work on the foundation).
Beyond physical mending, repairing applies to relationships, reputations, and other intangibles: They spent years repairing the damage to their marriage.
