regionalization
Dividing into zones
Regionalization is the process of organizing something by geographic regions rather than as a unified whole.
Governments regionalize services to address local needs: The health department pursued regionalization of emergency care.
Businesses regionalize operations to adapt to different markets.
In medicine, regionalization directs patients to specialized centers: Trauma regionalization routes severe injuries to designated hospitals.
