reshoring

Bringing production back

Reshoring is the practice of bringing manufacturing or business operations back to one's home country after they had been moved abroad.

The opposite of offshoring, it's driven by factors like rising overseas labor costs, supply chain disruptions, or political pressure: The pandemic accelerated reshoring as companies sought more reliable suppliers.

Also called onshoring.
