Reforming is the act of making changes to improve something, especially an institution or practice: The senator spent her career reforming the criminal justice system.
Someone who is reforming is in the process of changing their behavior for the better: a reforming alcoholic.
In chemistry and petroleum processing, reforming is a method of restructuring hydrocarbon molecules to produce higher-octane fuels.
