CD players
Optical audio devices
CD players are devices that read and play compact discs, the dominant music format from the mid-1980s through the early 2000s.
They appeared as home stereo components, portable units (Discmans), and car audio systems.
Though largely replaced by digital streaming, CD players remain in use among audiophiles and in older vehicles: The car still has a CD player, so I keep a few discs in the glove box.
