rail crossing
Where trains cross
A rail crossing is a place where a road or path intersects railroad tracks, allowing vehicles or pedestrians to cross.
Also called a railroad crossing or level crossing (British).
Rail crossings are marked with signs, gates, or warning lights: We waited at the rail crossing while the freight train passed.
