radioman
Wireless transmission specialist
A radioman is a person who operates radio equipment, especially in military or maritime contexts.
The term typically refers to enlisted personnel responsible for communications aboard ships, aircraft, or in ground units: The radioman sent the coordinates back to base.
The role has largely been absorbed into broader communications specialties, making the term somewhat dated.
