pseudocyst
False fluid sac
A pseudocyst is a fluid-filled sac resembling a true cyst but lacking the epithelial lining that defines one.
The term appears most often in medicine, particularly for collections of fluid that form in or around the pancreas after inflammation or injury: The CT scan revealed a pancreatic pseudocyst.
Unlike true cysts, pseudocysts are enclosed by fibrous tissue rather than specialized cells.
