Bordered describes something that has an edge, boundary, or decorative frame around it.
A bordered photograph has a visible margin or frame surrounding the image.
Countries or regions that are bordered by others share boundaries with them: France is bordered by Spain to the south.
The word also applies to decorative elements along edges, as in bordered stationery or a garden bordered by hedges.
When something bordered on a quality, it came close to it: Her tone bordered on hostility.
