water system
Municipal supply infrastructure
A water system is the infrastructure that supplies water to a community—the network of reservoirs, pipes, pumps, and treatment facilities that deliver clean water to homes and businesses.
The term also applies to natural drainage networks: the Mississippi River water system.
A building's internal plumbing may be called its water system as well.
