well pump
Draws water up
A well pump is a mechanical device that draws water from an underground well to the surface.
Most residential wells use submersible pumps positioned deep in the well shaft, or jet pumps mounted above ground.
When a well pump fails, the household loses water pressure: The well pump quit and we had no water for three days.
