popliteal

Back of knee

Popliteal refers to the back of the knee—the soft, slightly hollow area where the leg bends.

The term appears almost exclusively in medical and anatomical contexts: popliteal artery, popliteal fossa, popliteal cyst.

Outside clinical settings, most people just say "back of the knee."
