pond snails
Freshwater shell creatures
Pond snails are small freshwater snails commonly found in ponds, lakes, and slow-moving streams.
They breathe air and feed on algae, decaying plant matter, and detritus.
Popular in aquariums as natural cleaners, they reproduce prolifically and can quickly overrun a tank: The pond snails hitchhiked in on some plants I bought.
