polydactylism
Surplus digit condition
Polydactylism is the condition of having more than the usual number of fingers or toes.
It occurs in humans and other animals, sometimes running in families.
Polydactyl cats, often called Hemingway cats, are prized by some breeders.
The condition ranges from a small extra nub to fully formed additional digits.
