plant cell
Chloroplast-containing life unit
A plant cell is the basic structural unit of plants, distinguished from animal cells by a rigid cell wall, chloroplasts for photosynthesis, and a large central vacuole.
These features allow plants to maintain their shape without a skeleton and convert sunlight into energy.
Under the microscope, the plant cells appeared as neat rectangular boxes.
