plant tissue
Botanical structural matter
Plant tissue is the cellular material that makes up the structural and functional parts of plants.
Like animal tissue, it consists of specialized cells organized for particular purposes—vascular tissue conducts water and nutrients, dermal tissue forms protective outer layers, and ground tissue handles photosynthesis and storage.
The botanist examined the plant tissue under a microscope.
