lightshow

Synchronized beam spectacle

A lightshow is a display of moving colored lights, often synchronized to music.

The term emerged from 1960s psychedelic culture, where projected lights accompanied rock concerts to enhance the sensory experience.

Today lightshows range from concert productions with lasers and strobes to software visualizations: The DJ's lightshow pulsed with the bass.
