picket line
Workers' protest formation
A picket line is a barrier formed by striking workers or protesters outside a workplace or business, intended to discourage others from entering.
Workers walk the picket line carrying signs; to cross the picket line is to enter despite the protest, often considered a betrayal of solidarity.
The union set up a picket line at dawn.
