Pegboard is a flat board perforated with evenly spaced holes, used for organizing tools and supplies by inserting hooks or pegs: He mounted a pegboard in the garage for his wrenches.
The grid pattern allows flexible arrangement.
Pegboard also names a children's game where colored pegs fit into holes to create patterns or pictures.
