paperclip

Bent wire fastener

A paperclip is a small bent wire used to hold sheets of paper together.

The familiar double-loop design has remained largely unchanged since the late 19th century.

To paperclip documents is to fasten them this way: I paperclipped the receipt to the form.

The word also appears as two words or hyphenated.
