packmules
Mountain cargo carriers
Packmules are mules used to carry loads, especially over rough terrain where wheeled vehicles can't go.
The mule's sure-footedness and endurance make it ideal for hauling supplies on mountain trails or into remote areas.
Figuratively, a packmule is anyone who does the heavy lifting—the person stuck carrying everyone's gear on a hike, or an employee burdened with unglamorous work: I'm tired of being the office packmule.
